Regina “Jeannie” Renfro, age 70, of Shepherdsville, Kentucky went home to her Heavenly Father on October 28, 2025. She was preceded in death by her loving mother, Joy Homeister Porter; father, Charles Homeister; brothers, Vincent, Billy and Charles Homeister and her grandson, Eric.
Left to cherish her memory are her devoted husband of 43 years, Arvin “Eddie” Renfro; her beloved son, Charles “Charlie” Renfro (Miranda); her cherished grandson and best friend, Waylon “Bubba” Renfro and her grandchildren-at-heart, Sophia, Nathan, and Macie who each brought her endless joy. She is also survived by her daughter, Christie; grandchildren, Sabra and Cienna; sister, Joy Irene; uncle, Thomas and a host of loving family and dear friends.
Regina was the heart of her family, the steady, shining center that kept everyone grounded and loved. She brought light and laughter into every room she entered, always finding the good in every situation and never allowing life’s storms to dim her spirit. She was especially proud of her “Momo days” with Waylon which filled her heart more than words could ever express.
Her chili was legendary (her guys’ favorite) and if you asked Charlie, he’d proudly tell you no one could make it like his mama. It was made with love, laughter, and just the right amount of spice, much like Regina herself.
A true cute-as-a-button spitfire, Regina was sweet as pie until someone messed with her family-then that fire in her heart came out, fierce and loyal as they come. Her compassion knew no bounds, extending not only to people but to every living creature. She had a special love for animals, always making sure the birds and woodland visitors around her home were cared for and loved.
Regina’s warmth, humor and unwavering love touched everyone lucky enough to know her. Though her physical presence will be deeply missed, her spirit, her laughter, and her boundless love will live on forever in the hearts of all who loved her.
Visitation will be conducted on Saturday, November 1, 2025, from 1:00 pm until 7:00 at Schoppenhorst, Underwood & Brooks Funeral Home (Preston Hwy. at Brooks Rd.) with cremation to follow.
