

She is preceded in death by her parents Jack and Bettie Michels, parents-in-law Robert and Christine Schuetter, brother-in-law Dan Goebel, sister-in-law Sharon Spaulding, and brother-in-law Gary Rogers.
She leaves her legacy with her husband of 35 years Michael Goebel, married September 9, 1988; daughter Amanda Ahrens (Pat); son Nic Goebel; puppies Samson and Charlie; granddaughter Iris Ahrens; siblings Greg Michels, Tony Michels (Tyler), Jenni Pitman (Walker), Matt Michels (Pam), and Stephanie Rockhold; along with numerous friends and loved ones.
Robin was born June 28th, 1962, in Louisville, KY. She graduated from Holy Rosary Academy in 1980 where she enjoyed her time as a cheerleader. She met Michael in August 1975 and they dated 13 years before marrying at St. Rita Catholic Church. They welcomed daughter Amanda in 1991 and son Nic in 1994. She cherished being a mother and attended every field trip, sports game, and performance.
Robin was a long-time employee of JCPenney department store before transitioning to Oxmoor Auto Group in 2010 and Louisville BMW in 2019. She was known to many of her coworkers as their ‘work mom’. Friends knew her for her love of colorful outfits, sparkly jewelry, the color purple, peanut M&Ms, Pepsi, Mickey & Minnie Mouse, country music, Celine Dion, Elvis, yorkies, shopping, and butterflies.
Robin was diagnosed with glioblastoma in January 2021. Despite the negative outlook, she remained positive and hopeful. During this time, she visited Disney World, became ‘Meemaw’ to her first grandchild, and spent time with her puppies.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, February 2nd at 7pm at Schoppenhorst, Underwood & Brooks Funeral Home in Hillview, KY. Friends and loved ones may pay their respects Friday before the service from 1pm – 7pm.
