Sam Davis Edlin

Mr. Sam Davis Edlin, Jr., age 85, of Heritage Creek returned to his Heavenly Father on February 27, 2017. Mr. Edlin retired from General Electric after 25 years of service and was a U.S. Army veteran. Among those that preceded him in death include his parents, Sam Edlin, Sr. and Ruthine Cundiff Wise; wife, Elizabeth "Betty" Brown Edlin; son, Gary Lee Edlin; and brother, Garnet Edlin. He leaves to cherish his memory his children, Don Edlin (Diani), Monica Peterson (Roy), and Martha Whitaker; grandchildren, Amy, Andy, Ben, Beth, Craig, Jennifer and Mike; 15 great-grandchildren; 5 great-great grandchildren; sisters, Marian Browner, Judy Digman (George) and Toyah Dowdy; and beloved cousin, Norma Jean Knight.

Friends may pay their respects on Friday from 1-8 pm and Saturday from 9 am until time of service at the funeral home. Funeral service will be conducted at noon on Saturday, March 4, 2017 in the chapel of Schoppenhorst, Underwood and Brooks Funeral Home (Preston Highway at Brooks Road) with interment in Highland Memory Gardens.
