Stephen "Steve" Elmer Welch

Mr. Stephen “Steve” Elmer Welch, age 63, of Shepherdsville, returned to his Heavenly Father on Sunday, October 18, 2020. He was born on October 30, 1957 in Louisville to Janet Welch and the late Judge Elmer Welch. Mr. Welch was a retiree from Salt River Electric after 35 years of service. He was preceded in death by his son, Stephen “Brent” Welch; and father, J.E. Welch

He leaves to cherish his memory his fiancé, Paula Ballback; son, Adam Welch; granddaughters, Cayleigh and Amari Welch; his mother, Janet Welch; sister, Patricia Gayle (Joseph) Lampkin; and Paula’s sons, Michael Ballback and Kirk Brentzel.

Funeral service will be held at 4 pm on Sunday, October 25, 2020 in the chapel of Schoppenhorst, Underwood and Brooks Funeral Home (Preston Hwy. at Brooks Rd.) with cremation to follow. Friends may pay their respects on Sunday, from 2 pm until the time of the service at the funeral home.
