Sue Carol Hester

   Sue Carol Hester, age 77 of Mt. Washington, returned to her Heavenly Father on Monday, July 3, 2023. She was born on February 25, 1946, to the late Harvey and Rose Ella (Elmore) Higgs. Sue attended Bethlehem Baptist Church in Louisville and was a member of the former HiLi Swim Club in Louisville. She loved tending to her flowers, working her crossword puzzles, reading a good book and taking rides through the country. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Steve Higgs.

   She leaves to cherish her memory her husband of 55 years, James “Jim” Hester; daughter, Kellie Brumbaugh (Delbert); sons, Kevin Hester and Kory Hester; grandchildren, Celia Brumbaugh and Christian Brumbaugh; sister, Grey Ennis; brothers, Lin Higgs (Patty) and Jim Higgs; sister-in-law, Patsy Higgs and a host of other family and friends.

   Funeral service will be conducted on Friday, July 7, 2023, at 2 pm in the chapel at Schoppenhorst, Underwood & Brooks Funeral Home (4895 N. Preston Hwy.) with burial in Brookland Cemetery. Family and friends may pay their respects on Friday, July 7, 2023,  from 10 am until time of service at Schoppenhorst, Underwood & Brooks Funeral Home.
