Sue Katherine Ireland

Mrs. Sue Katherine Ireland, age 77, of Louisville, Ky returned to her Heavenly Father on Sunday, April 21, 2024. She was born on January 23, 1947, to the late James Edward Hood, Jr., and Mary Elizabeth (Boyd) Hood. Sue was a member of Summit Hills Baptist Church, she worked for many years as a medical assistant, was a representative for Mary Kay Cosmetics, Tupperware, and Home Interior. She also enjoyed spending time entertaining family and friends. Sue enjoyed dancing, music, but most of all she was a loving and dedicated wife, mom, and grandma. She will be truly missed by all who knew her.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

She leaves to cherish her memory her loving husband of 56 years, George William Ireland, Jr; children, Kimberly Ireland, Elizabeth Ann Angellis (Marc), Patrick Lee Ireland, (Josie), eleven grandchildren, Lauren, Nicholas, Dylan, Dominic, Sarah A., Sarah I., Alex, Erin, Jason, Ashley, and Samantha, five great grandchildren, her brother James Edward Hood, Jr. (Brenda), sister Deborah Fegar (Larry), along with a host of nieces, nephews and other dear family and friends. 

A funeral service will be held Friday, April 26, 2024, at 2:00 pm in the chapel of Schoppenhorst, Underwood and Brooks Funeral Home (Preston Hwy at Brooks Rd) with burial to follow at Highland Memory Gardens. Family and friends may pay their respects on Friday from 11:00 am until the time of service at 2:00 p.m.
