Thomas Michael "Mike" Reitz

Mr. Thomas Michael Reitz, age 80, of Louisville, Kentucky returned to his Heavenly Father on Tuesday, July 30, 2024. He was born in Louisville, Kentucky on February 23, 1944, to the late Ralph Robert Reitz and Lillian (Lee) Reitz. Mike worked for 29 years with R. Reitz and Sons, he was a Navy veteran of the Vietnam Era and very proud to serve his country. He was a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church, he owned a street rod car and enjoyed showing it and working on it. Mike loved all his grandchildren and enjoyed watching them play baseball, football, gymnastics and competitive cheer. He also collected Indian Artifacts and displayed them proudly. He was a loving husband for 54 years to his wife, whom he adored, a supportive and caring father to his two children and simply pops to his five grandchildren, whom he loved immensely. He will be truly missed by all who knew and loved him. 

 He was preceded in death by his parents, and a sister Robin Hand, and brother Glenn Reitz, Sr.

He leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Mearlen Reitz; daughter, Kelly Wyatt (Craig), son Jonathan Reitz (Nicole), grandchildren Keaton Reitz, Logan Wyatt, Mason Wyatt, Karson Reitz, and Kinley Reitz, sister Sheree Keeling (Wayne), along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other dear family and friends.

 Visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 6, 2024, from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.  at (Schoppenhorst, Underwood and Brooks Funeral Home (4895 N. Preston Highway). A Graveside service will be held Wednesday, August 7, 2024, at Kentucky Veterans Central in Radcliff Kentucky at 1:30 p.m.
