

Mrs. Virginia Louise Swallow, age 80, of Shepherdsville, returned to her Heavenly Father on Wednesday, October 22, 2025. Mrs. Swallow was born in Davy, West Virginia on July 23, 1945, to the late Haze Carl Church and Sadie Money- Church, and she was a skilled upholsterer. She valued community and friendship, as a proud member of the Moose Lodge, Gulf Cove Chapter in Florida and at the Freedom Day Health Center in Shepherdsville, KY. She loved fishing and cherished traveling when she was able. Above all, she was a devoted caregiver with a generous heart. Her thoughtfulness and love for those around her ensured that everyone’s needs were met, right down to the softness of their clothing.
In addition to her parents, her beloved husband, Cecil K. Swallow; siblings, Rosetta Perry, Larry Church, Sr., Margaret Ries, Martha Church and Clair Church preceded her in death.
She leaves to cherish her memory, her children, Doug Hux (Lori), Kimberly Doll (Ruben) and Amy Storms; grandchildren, William Hux (Amber), Michael Hux, Ryann DeWeese (Jason), Bradley Holcomb (Julie), Savannah Hacker and Emma Lynn Martin; great-grandchildren, Alura Hux, Leo Hux, Harley Hux, Kaitlin DeWeese and Jacob DeWeese; brothers, Darrell Church (Dahlia), Jack Church and a host of other dear family and friends.
Graveside service and interment with her dear husband will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday, October 28, 2025 at The Cedar Creek First Baptist Church (754 Bellwood Rd., Bardstown, KY)
Schoppenhorst, Underwood and Brooks Funeral Home (Preston Hwy. at Brooks Rd.) has been entrusted with her arrangements.
