William L. Zachary

William L. Zachary age 85 of Okolona was born March 29, 1927 to the late Martin and Lily Belle Bolin Zachary in Russell County, KY and returned to his Heavenly Father August 1, 2012 at his home with loved ones by his side.

Mr. Zachary was a member of Okolona Christian Church, a retired self employed salesman and a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.

Among those who preceded him in death include his parents; daughter, Carol Smith; grandson, Johnny Johnson; sister, Ruth VanMeter; brothers, Ray, Lee and Edwin Zachary.

He leaves to cherish his memory his beloved wife of 56 years, Betty Stewart Zachary; daughters, Karen Chaytor, Jeannie Owen (Chuck), Pam Durham (Gary), Debbie Tharp (Sonny), Peggy Stowers (Tom) and Darla Cunagin (Tim); sister, Anita Woodall (Lonnie); brother, David Zachary (Geneva); 18 grandchildren, 34 great grandchildren, 7 great-great grandchildren and a host of other family and friends.

Funeral service will be held 12 P.M. Saturday at Schoppenhorst, Underwood and Brooks (Preston Highway at Brooks Road) with interment in Kentucky Veterans Central Cemetery. Friends may pay their respects from 2 P.M. until 8 P.M. Friday and from 10 A.M. until 12 P.M. Saturday at Schoppenhorst. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to Okolona Christian Church or to Hosparus.
