Funeral Mass in under the direction of Buffington Funeral Home in Shiner, Texas and will
be held at 10:00 am on Monday, July 21, 2014 at Saints Cyril & Methodius Catholic Church in Shiner, Texas with Father Kirby Hlavaty officiating. Interment will follow at the Shiner Catholic Cemetery in Shiner, Texas. A Rosary will be recited on Sunday, July 20, 2014 at 6:00 pm at Buffington Funeral Home Chapel in Shiner, Texas with Deacon Joe Machacek officiating.
Jake was born on May 21, 1935 in Shiner, Texas. He was the son of Alphonse and Viola (Miculka) Jalufka. Anthony Alphonse Jalufka was a member of the United States Army Reserve having attained the rank of Staff Seargent. He was Honorably Discharged on January 31, 1964. Jake married Bernice (Boedeker) Kloesel on August 14, 1965 at Saints Cyril & Methodius Catholic Church in Shiner, Texas. When he could get away from his work, Jake liked to go fishing and deer hunting. Jake owned and operated Jalufka Concrete Works from 1953 until his retirement in 1996. Jake liked to bowl, and he was a member of two bowling teams; the Williford Drug men’s team and the Jalufka Concrete mixed doubles team. He played the accordion for family and friends, and he liked playing dominoes. He was a member of Hermann Sons, 621st Mess Kit Repair, and Knights of Columbus, as well as a past member of Shiner Businessmen’s club.
He is survived by his loving wife of forty-eight years; Bernice Jalufka, one son; Mark Jalufka and his wife, Tracey of Shiner, Texas, three daughters; Jane Baxmann and her husband, Mark of Sugarland, Texas, Doris Rohan and her husband, Donald of Victoria, Texas, Jennifer Patek and her husband, Stephen of Shiner, Texas, one brother; Dennis Jalufka and his wife, Kathy of Pearland, Texas, one sister; Barbara Janak of Houston, Texas. thirteen grandchildren; Kevin Molnoskey, Brian Molnoskey and his wife, Melissa, Michelle Baxmann, Matthew Baxmann and his wife, Stephanie, Bradley Rohan, Sara Rohan, Jake Jalufka, Madison Jalufka, Cole Jalufka, Jamie Jalufka, Claire Patek, Katie Patek, Anthony Patek, five great-grandchildren; Mackenzie Baxmann, Christian Guerrero, Brady Braxmann, Bailey Molnoskey, Bennett Molnoskey, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; Alphonse and Viola Jalufka, four brothers-in-law; George Janak, Clifton “Shorty” Fielder, Jerome Edwards, Felix Chumchal, one nephew; Robert Janak.
