Clifton Willie Renken

Clifton W. Renken, 97, of Shiner, passed away on March 9, 2021.

Visitation will be held between 9:30 and 10:30 a.m. on March 13, 2021 with funeral services following at 10:30 a.m. at Buffington Funeral Home in Shiner, Texas.

Pallbearers will be Kris Hauptman, Brian Hurst, Kevin Renken, Glenn Kalina, David Filip and Kristopher Hauptman.

Clifton was born on October 18, 1923 to the late Otto and Minnie Renken.

Clifton married the love of his life, Clariebel Behlen, and they spent 65 loving years together enjoying life and dancing up a storm.

He proudly served his country in the Army, serving time in Germany, France, Luxemburg, Holland and Japan.

Survivors include his children: Alice Coyle and husband, J.C., Ronald Renken and wife Iris, Elaine Hauptman and husband Kenneth; 12 grandchildren, Susie, Denise and John, Michelle and Glenn, Kris, Lori and David, Brian and Tammy, Kevin and Shelly, Jennifer and Casey, Shawn and Misa, Dawn and Fabian, Larry, Cindy and Philip; 24 Great grandchildren, Alan, Michael, Kara, Ohanna, Bake, Brock, Chandler, Kennedy, Riley, Dillon, Madison, Mallory, Breana, Bryce, Bailey, Hailey, Kristopher, Ashley, Trey, Drake, Kentaro, Naomi, Jordan and Lindsey and 10 great, great grandchildren, Summer, Colt, J.J., Clay, Cooper, Eliana, Grayson, Colton, Coen and Henry. He is also survived by his sister Lorene Renken Hermes and his brother William Renken.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Clariebel Renken (8/5/2008); his son, Donald Otto Renken (1/19/1973); his parents, his brothers, Newton Renken and Earl Renken and his sister, Laura Renken Onhaizer.
