Irene Ida McGinty Wendel

Funeral Mass is under the direction of Buffington Funeral Home in Shiner, Texas and will be held at 10:00 am on Saturday, September 14, 2013 at Saints Cyril & Methodius Catholic Church in Shiner, Texas with Father Kirby Hlavaty officiating. Interment will follow at the Shiner Catholic Cemetery in Shiner, Texas. A Rosary will be recited on Friday September 13, 2013 at 7:00 pm at Buffington Funeral Home in Shiner, Texas with the Catholic Daughters and the Catholic Alter Society officiating.

Irene was born December 27, 1919 in Dilworth, Texas. She was the daughter of Luke L. and Annie (Brasser) McGinty. The family lived in Shiner until Luke passed away, at which time Irene and her siblings, (Evelyn, Lorene, and Ralph) went to live on a farm with their Uncle Fritz Brasser. Irene married Edward Frank Kremling on June 18, 1940 at Saints Cyril & Methodius Catholic Church in Shiner, Texas. Their marriage remained strong until Edwards Death. She was a member of Saints Cyril & Methodius Catholic Church where she also belonged to the Catholic Alter Society and the Catholic Daughters. Irene Married Herbert Wendel on February 1, 1977 at Saints Cyril & Methodius Catholic Church in Shiner, Texas. Irene was President of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary for 11 years. Her hobbies were Quilting, Cooking and Baking.

Irene is survived by two daughters; Doris Tesch and her husband, Maurice of Hallettsville, Texas and Cathy Vrana and her husband, Johnny of Kountze, Texas, two grandsons; Paul Tesch of Pearland, Texas, and Clint Vrana of Beaumont, Texas, one granddaughter; Lesley Fessler and her husband, Brent of Houston, Texas. She was preceded in death by her parents; Luke and Annie McGinty, her husbands; Edward Kremling (1971) ad Herbert Wendel (1978), two sisters; Evelyn Schelling and Lorene Kremling, one brother; Ralph McGinty, and one son; Edward Joseph Kremling.
