Joseph Paul Kneifel

Joe Kneifel, 81, of Shiner, passed away Friday January 14, 2011. Mr. Kneifel was born Nov 30, 1929 to Joseph and Hilda Kosler Kneifel in Lavaca County. Joe married Joyce Wegner on October 22, 1957 in the SS Cyril & Methodius Catholic Church in Shiner.

He was a retired ranch foreman for the Welhausen Cattle Company and a member of Shiner American Legion, post 201.

He is survived by wife, Joyce Kneifel of Shiner; sons, Michael Kneifel and wife, Carol, of Shiner and Byron Kneifel and wife, Charity, of Dripping Springs; daughters, Jo Beth Condel and husband, Douglas, and Donna Kneifel both of Shiner; 1 brother Victor Kneifel of Shiner; 5 sisters, Mary Hilda Erdelt, Lorene Kneifel, Florene Hybner of Shiner, Mildred Schoenfeld of Yoakum and Estelle Mc Ada of Corpus Christy; 7 grandchildren, Jason Condel, Kyle Condel, Ty Condel, Nicole Kneifel, Jeremy Kneifel, Craig Kneifel and Sierra Kneifel; 1 great-grandchild, Landyn Torres.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Visitation will be Sunday, Jan 16, 2011, from noon to 9 pm with rosary at 7 pm at Buffington Funeral Home Chapel in Shiner. Services will be held Mon, Jan 17, 2011 at 1 pm at SS Cyril & Methodius Catholic Church in Shiner with burial at Shiner Memorial Cemetery.
