Lester Harvey Haas

Funeral Services are under the direction of Buffington Funeral Home in Shiner, Texas and will be held Thursday, December 13, 2012 at 10:00 am at the Saints Cyril and Methodius Catholic Church in Shiner, Texas with Father Kirby Hlavaty officiating.

Burial will follow at the Shiner Catholic Cemetery in Shiner, Texas.

Rosary will be said on Wednesday, December 12, 2012 at 7:00 pm at Buffington Funeral Home in Shiner, Texas with Deacon Joe Machacek officiating.

Lester was born on April 26, 1960 in Hallettsville, Texas. He was the son of Leslie and Hattie (Malinovsky) Haas. He graduated from St. Paul High School in 1978. He married Sharon Vaclavik on April 27, 1985 at the Saints Cyril and Methodius Catholic Church in Shiner, Texas. He was self-employed as a carpenter since graduating high school. His specialty was cabinet making. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and gardening. He could always be found cheering at his children’s softball games.

He is survived by his loving wife of 27 years, Sharon Haas, three daughters, Heather Haas, Holly Haas and her fiancé, Kody Boedeker, and Lauren Haas, all of Shiner, Texas. One granddaughter; Alexis Boedeker of Shiner, Texas, one brother; Randy Haas and his wife Tweety of New Braunfels, Texas, two sisters; Sheryl Barborak and her husband James of Gonzales, Texas, Donna Arlitt and her husband, Ron of Port O’Connor, Texas. He was preceded in death by his parents; Leslie and Hattie Haas, his grandparents; Paul and Beatrice Malinovsky, Joe and Veronika Haas.

Pallbearers for Lester will be: Matthew Arlitt, James Bilsky, James Barborak, Ryan Barborak, Tyler Haas, Ricky Vinklarek, Michael Arlitt, and Weldon Rigby.
