Marie Gates

Graveside Services are under the direction of Buffington Funeral Home in Shiner, Texas and will be held at 11:00am on Saturday, August 2, 2014 at Shiner Catholic Cemetery in Shiner, Texas with Pastor Joshua Bolch officiating. Visitation will begin at 3:00pm on Friday, August 1, 2014 at Buffington Funeral Home Chapel. Family will be at Buffington Funeral Home to greet friends and guests from 5:00pm – 7:00pm.

Marie was born on December 6, 1915 in Charlotte, Texas. She was the daughter of George and Margaret (Cooper) Gabitzsch. She married Lee Sedlmeyer in 1934 and Carrol Gates in 1950. Marie was part owner of a detective agency in Houston, Texas.

Marie is survived by one son; Larry Sedlmeyer and his wife, Agnes, of Shiner, Texas, one brother; Clayton Gabitzsch and his wife, Vicki, of San Antonio, Texas, two grandsons; Ronald Sedlmeyer and his wife, Jennifer, of Dripping Springs, Texas, and Gregory Sedlmeyer of Surf Side, Texas, and one granddaughter; Karen Rowe and her husband, Bobby, of Floresville, Texas.

She was preceded in death by her parents; George and Margaret Gabitzsch, her husbands; Lee Sedlmeyer and Carrol Gates, five brothers; Forest Gabitzsch, Lane Gabitzsch,Travis Gabitzsch, George Gabitzsch, Leslie Askey, two sisters; Lorrain Gill, and Adel Millis.

Pallbearers for Mrs. Gates are; Ronald Sedlmeyer, Gregory Sedlmeyer, Tallon Sedlmeyer, Adam Lansdowne, Steven Lansdowne, and Jill Sedlmeyer.
