

Alma was a pioneer as a single mother. She retired after 50 years of service with Witt Oil Productions. Alma dedicated her life to her daughter and children as well as her church family. Alma was a loving, dedicated mother, grandmother, sister, friend and teacher. She taught 2nd grad Sunday school at Springs of Grace for generations. Her love for Maggie, her dachshund, was the best medicine of her life.
Alma is preceded in death by her sister, Helen Gilbert and loving companion, Jay Neil. She is survived by brothers, L.A. Gilbert and Owen Gilbert; daughter, Janet Sue Peppers; grandchildren, Corey Johnson and Mary Saunders with their spouses; five great-grandchildren and a multitude of church family and friends.
Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, December 20, 2014, at Centuries Memorial Park. Officiating will be Alma’s Sunday school teacher, Mr. Buddy King. The family will receive guests on Friday evening from 4:30-7:30 p.m. at Centuries Memorial Funeral Home.
Honoring Alma as pallbearers are Don Henry, Tommy Barr, Jim Brooks, Micah Strange, Bo Roberts, and Jeff Seigner. Honorary pallbearers are Sid Spegil, Steve Stephens, and Charles Johnson.
