A special time of gathering for family and friends celebrating the life of Danny Webb, 71, will be held Monday, February 12, 2018 from 5:00 until 7:00 pm at Centuries Memorial Funeral Home in Shreveport, LA.
Danny was born on November 23, 1946 in Newelton, LA to Alton D. Webb and Helen Hemphill Adams. He passed away suddenly on February 5, 2018 in Johnson Valley, California while attending the King of the Hammers Race where he was to watch his beloved son, Ryan, race.
He graduated from Woodlawn High School in 1966 and then went on to honorably serve his country in the U. S. Marine Corps where he received a Purple Heart medal for his service during the Vietnam War. Danny retired from General Motors with almost 30 years of service and was thoroughly enjoying his retirement years at his home in Marshall, TX.
Danny loved hunting, playing his guitar, singing karaoke, watching Nascar, and a cold beer. He was so generous and loved everyone with such a big heart, especially his family. He lived each day doing just what he wanted and in his retirement years he always enjoyed saying that his every day was the weekend.
Danny was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Diane Webb; nephews, Shane Basinger and Brian Cathey; and great nieces, Jadyn and Kinsley Basinger. Those left to cherish his memory are his only son, his pride and joy, Ryan Webb and wife, Stephanie; grandchildren Blayne and Briley Webb; step-daughter, Christine Anderson and husband, Ronnie; step-granddaughters, Audrey and Cassidy Giddens; brother, Tommy Webb and wife, Sandra; sisters, Jean Champion, Mitzi Moring, and Marie Lites; and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.
We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to all of our race family that gave so much love and support to Ryan while in California at the King of the Hammers race. Your kindness and prayers will never be forgotten. To know Pa, was to love Pa. We are so thankful that he was ours and will forever cherish our time we had with him.
