Alvin Lon Scott was born July 2, 1940 in Converse, Louisiana to Evon Scott Jackson and Arthur C. Scott. He honorably served his country in the United States Army for five years, where he received a letter of accommodation for going above and beyond his duty. He retired after 30 plus years at Bellsouth working as a repairman. After his retirement, he had more time for his passion of Taxidermy. He was extremely talented. Alvin opened his own shop in the late 1990s in Springridge and then moving to Keatchie.
Alvin was an true outdoorsman who loved deer hunting and fishing. He was an avid LSU baseball fan. Most of all he loved spending time with his family and friends. Alvin went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, December 30, 2023. He was preceded in death by his wife, Ursula L. Scott, his son, Greg Allen Scott and his parents. He will be deeply missed by those he loved.
Left to cherish his memory are his sons, Walter Scott and his wife, Margaret of Converse, Louisiana and Gary Scott and his wife, Teressa of Shreveport, Louisiana; grandsons, Joshua Scott of Keatchie, Louisiana and Micah Scott and his wife, Kendel of Keithville, Louisiana; great grandson, Jaxon Scott; brother, A.C. Scott and his wife, Celeste of Plaquemine, Louisiana; sisters, Patricia Mancantel and her husband, Calbert of San Marcos, Texas, Jennie Roy and her husband, Ken of Houston, Texas and Brenda Furlow and her husband, Larry of Stanley, Louisiana; along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
A visitation for Alvin will be held Saturday, January 20, 2024 at 10:00 AM at Centuries Memorial Funeral Home & Park, 8801 Mansfield Road, Shreveport, Louisiana 71108, followed by a celebration of life at 11:00 AM. He will be laid to rest in Centuries Memorial Park.
