Annette M. Richardson, 70, of Shreveport, Louisiana died Monday, August 23, 2021 with her daughter at her side. Ms. Richardson was born in Ohio, the daughter of the late John Rahrig and Jeannine LeScraigne Rahrig.
Annette grew up in Ohio, but her French heritage played a huge role in her life. Her first language was French and many long summers were spent at her grand-parents house in Les Agêts, France. She eventually moved to the Washington, D.C. area and had a fingerprint examiner job in the United States federal government. However, she ended that position when she had children and became very active in their lives. She was always available for whatever volunteering was needed and even taught French classes at their school. Once her children had fully grown, she found happiness with her second marriage and finally was able to explore her love of travel and corvettes. She travelled Europe extensively, took 20+ cruises, and even made it to Asia. She owned 5 corvettes over the years and was an active member of the local corvette clubs. Annette was an amazing woman and was always there to take care of the people she loved be they family or friends.
Annette was preceded in death by her husband, George “Randy” Richardson. She has left too soon her children: a daughter, Clarissa Emrick and a son, Ryan Emrick (Connie), her second husband’s children: Keri Nichols (Josh) and Emily Johnson (Jody), 11 grandchildren, and one great-grandchild.
As Annette requested, there will be no funeral or memorial services. Please remember her as she was in life - vibrant, strong, and stubborn. At a later date, her ashes will be scattered on Mt. Fuji as she had fallen in love with Japan on her trips to visit her daughter and she was especially proud of climbing Fuji-san in 2015.
The family requests that memorial donations be made to one of the following: St. Joseph’s or Lifepath hospices of Shreveport or the Prevent Cancer Foundation.
The family would also like to thank the nurses and staff of both Ochsner LSU Health and The Carpenter House for their excellent care, consideration, and kindness. Thank you!
