Barbara Jean Ferguson

A faithful servant of the Lord, Barbara was an active member of Shady Grove Baptist Church, where she lived out her devotion through service, fellowship, and prayer. Her life was a testimony of God’s grace, reflected in her kindness, her generosity, and her unwavering love for family. She found joy in crocheting, gardening, and nurturing those around her, always reminding others of the blessings of faith and family.

Family was Barbara’s greatest treasure. She believed her most important calling was to love, guide, and cherish her children, grandchildren, great‑grandchildren, and great‑great‑grandchildren. Her home was a place of warmth and welcome, where laughter and love were abundant. She poured herself into every generation, leaving behind a legacy of faith, devotion, and togetherness that will continue to shape her family for years to come.

Barbara is survived by her son-in-law, Rickey Spataro; granddaughter, Hether Darnell, and her children, Austin Darnell, Abby Darnell, and Tyler Darnell; grandson, Gary D. Ferguson, and his son, Caleb Ferguson; granddaughter, Christi Lewis, and her children, Lexi Updite, Ashlyn Hall, and Tatum Kennemer; granddaughter, Dawn Bush; and her daughter, Chelsey Lewis; grandson, David Lewis; grandson, Brett Keene; granddaughter, Stefani Peters, and her children, Remi Peters and Maddi Peters; granddaughter, Erin Kniepp, and her son, Ryker Kniepp, and daughter, Maggie Kniepp; great-great-grandson, Eason; and great-great-granddaughters, Kimber, Kayleen, Ophelia, and Alana.

She now rejoices in Heaven with her father, Monroe Ingram; her mother, Eloise Miller Ingram; siblings J.W. Ingram, Larry Ingram, and Patricia Baliff; sons Andy Ferguson, Gary Ferguson, Stanley Ferguson, and Roger Ferguson; daughters Beverly Lewis and Nancy Spataro; and granddaughters Martha Lewis, Tiffany Ferguson, and great-granddaughter Alannah Ferguson.

The family extends heartfelt gratitude to the doctors, nurses, and staff at Feist‑Weiller Cancer Center for their compassionate care.

Visitation will be held at Centuries Memorial Funeral Home, 8801 Mansfield Road, Shreveport, LA 71108, on September 5, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., followed by a Celebration of Life at 11:00 a.m., officiated by Pastor Nick Sorrell.

Burial will take place on September 5, 2026, at Centuries Memorial Funeral Home & Park, 8801 Mansfield Road, Shreveport, in the Fountain section, Lot 29, Space 7.
