Barbara Ridings

Barbara Kay Ridings, age 76, of Shreveport, Louisiana, passed away peacefully on Monday, September 8, 2025, surrounded by her family. She was born August 22, 1949 in Wewoka, Oklahoma to Frank and Louise Ridings.

She is survived by her daughter, Sherrie Burrow (Ryan), and her son, Bobby Mitchell, Jr. (Wendi); her brother, Glenn Ridings (Nadine); her beloved grandchildren Kara Cook (B.J.), Erin Peace (Zac), Sabrina Mitchell, and Brice Mitchell (Kaitlynn); and her great-grandchildren Kyleigh Spoor, Kayden Burrow, Blaise Marshall, Harper Peace, and Karliegh Mitchell. She also leaves behind her cherished friend Dan, and numerous nieces and nephews who adored her.

Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Louise Larman Ridings; her brother, Colon Ridings; and her sister, Nelda Cooper.

A Graveside Service for Barbara will be held Thursday, September 11, 2025 at 10:00 AM at Centuries Memorial Park Pavilion, 8801 Mansfield Road, Shreveport, Louisiana 71108. Officiating the service will be her brother, Glenn Ridings.

The family extends their heartfelt thanks to the staff at The Guest House and Gentiva Hospice for their compassion and care during Barbara’s final days.

Barbara’s legacy is one of love, laughter, resilience, and kindness — a life well-lived, and a woman deeply loved. She will be greatly missed by those who knew her best and loved her most.
