Berlyn R Puckett, born on July 11, 1938, in Hawesville, Kentucky, passed away on January 8, 2026, at the age of 87. A resident of Shreveport, Louisiana, Berlyn was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.
He is survived by his son, Jeff Puckett (Therese); grandchildren, Ethan Puckett, Anne Melancon (James), Gabriel Puckett, Addyson Miller, and Dustin Miller; great-grandson, Devin Melancon and brother, Danny Puckett. Berlyn was predeceased by his wife, Wanda Lea Puckett; daughter, Daphne Miller; father, Bertram Puckett; mother, Evelyn McCarty Puckett and sister, Linda Boyd.
Berlyn served honorably in the United States Air Force. He retired a a Field Service Engineer with NCR. Berlyn was a man of many passions, including fishing and hunting. He was a longtime member of Pinecroft Baptist Church where he dedicated many years to teaching Sunday School. He also had a deep love for gardening.
The family expresses their heartfelt gratitude to Northwest Louisiana Veteran's Home for their compassionate care during his time there.
Visitation will be held at Centuries Memorial Funeral Home, located at 8801 Mansfield Road, Shreveport, Louisiana, 71108, on Saturday, January 10, 2026, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am. A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will follow at 11:00 am at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital.
