

SHREVEPORT LA - Funeral services to celebrate the life of Bessie Norita Quave May will be held at Centuries Memorial on Monday, November 5, 2012 at 1PM. Monsignor Carson LaCaze will officiate. Visitation will be at Centuries memorial from 11AM to 1PM. Bess, born December 11, 1919 in Biloxi, Mississippi died on November 2, 2012. Her parents, Peter & Lema Fayard Quave, preceded her in death at a very young age. She was raised by her older siblings, James Quave and Iris Toncrey (Tonitta), and both preceeded her in death. Also preceeding Bess in death was Jim, her husband of 52 years, sister Angie Vuyovich (Eddie), brother Lynrose Quave, brother-in-law GW Rhodes, and her mother-in-law and father-in-law Joe & Ginnie May. Bess is survived by three sons, Henry "Scoot" (Sandra), Albert "Skip" (Dianne), Harry (Diana), and one daughter Carla Thomas (Joe). Also surviving her is her precious baby sister, Mary Ann Rhodes of Biloxi, sister-in-laws Gloria & Stella Mae Quave, Doris Lanehart, Bee Knight, Betty May and brother-in-law Jack May. Bess had ten grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren and many loving nieces and nephews.
Bess was a devout Catholic and attended St. Mary of the Pines Catholic church. Even though she said she hated to cook, her biscuits, fried bacon, tart lemon meringue pies, and banana pudding were outstanding. She kept such an immaculately clean home that she wiped the paint of the refrigerator. She loved to fold clothes, play bingo, and visit the casino.

Thank you to the wonderful people at The Bradford, The Grace Home, and Willis Knighton 3E for their loving care. Special thank you to Wayne Rabalais for looking out for Mother as though she were his mom, especially when the washer overflowed and she locked herself out of the house. He was always there to help.
Pallbearers will be Tony May, Kenny May, Richie Thomas, Kevin May, and Tony Hunter. Honarary pallbearers will be Shane Thomas, Greg Wycoff, Jason Regan, and Pat Taylor.
