Mrs. Betty C. Burford

Shreveport, LA- Funeral services celebrating the life of Betty C. Burford, 94, will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, June 11, 2015, in the chapel of Centuries Memorial Funeral Home. Interment will follow at the Burford family cemetery in Gloster, LA. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 10, 2015 from 5-7 p.m. at Centuries Memorial Funeral Home.

Betty was born on November 18, 1920, in Houston, TX and passed away on June 6, 2015, in Shreveport, LA. Mrs. Burford was a dedicated and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was a 1937 graduate of Fair Park High School and was voted "Miss Fair Park". Betty was very energetic and enjoyed cooking and ballroom dancing. She was a member of St. John Berchman Cathedral and the Elks Ladies Auxiliary.

Mrs. Burford was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Dale Burford; daughter, Barbara Ann Craine Griffin and first husband, C.A. Derivas, Jr.

Left to cherish beautiful memories of Betty are her children, Charles "Tommy" Craine, Amy Bush and husband Mike and Susan Derivas; stepson, C.A. Derivas, III; grandchildren, Ashley, Brock, Jackie, Lisa, Jim and Michael. She is also survived by numerous great grandchildren, other relatives and friends.

The family wishes to extend a special thanks to the staff of Heritage Manor Stratmore and her special caregivers, Shemika and Latoya.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests that donations be made to the local Elks Lodge Auxiliary, 310 Preston Avenue, Shreveport, LA 71105.
