

Shreveport, LA- Funeral services celebrating the life of Betty Ann Pate Hewitt, 78, will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 8, 2017 in the chapel of Centuries Memorial Funeral Home. Officiating will be Pastor Eugene McBride. Interment will follow in Centuries Memorial Park. Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Friday, April 7, 2017 at Centuries Memorial Funeral Home.
We are greatly saddened at the loss of our loved one yet we greatly rejoice in the heavenly homecoming of our Momma, Betty Ann Pate Hewitt. She was born on May 7, 1938 in Caspiana, LA and passed away into God’s open arms on the evening of Tuesday, April 4, 2017 in Shreveport, LA following a courageous battle with Alzheimer’s.
Betty was a dedicated, devoted, caring and loving wife, mother, grandmother and neighbor. She was a Christian role model and witness to so many. She had a love for the outdoors and enjoyed gardening, camping and traveling throughout the South.
Mrs. Hewitt was preceded in death by her husband, L.W. “Frenchie” Hewitt; son, Steven Dale Hewitt; parents, Morris C. Pate and Mary Corinne Pate and 8 older siblings.
Left to cherish beautiful memories of Betty are her sons, Tim Hewitt and wife Claudette, Brian Hewitt and wife Kathy; daughters, Sharon Hewitt Roper and husband Todd and Ann Hewitt May and husband Charlie; one sister, Helen Pate Shields; 17 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
