Betty Brooks Koloc, age 97, of Shreveport, Louisiana went to the loving arms of Jesus on Saturday August 8, 2026 after a brief illness. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, August 13, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. at Centuries Memorial Funeral Home, 8801 Mansfield Road, Shreveport, LA 71108. Burial will follow at Centuries Memorial Park. A visitation will be held Thursday, August 13, 2026, beginning at 10:00 a.m. until time of service. Officiating the service will be Associate Pastor John Harp of Brookwood Baptist Church and the Pastor Bro. David Rice.
Betty was born on August 14, 1928 to William Sidney and Mollie Walker Brooks in Ivan, Louisiana. She was married to Andy Koloc in April, 1947 for 63 years until his death in July, 2010.
Betty was a former member of Sunset Acres Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School in the Primary Department and she became a member of Brookwood Baptist Church in September of 1990.
She was the most precious mother anyone could ever want. She was always there for support, comfort, encouragement, very kind and loving. She is going to be missed so much.
Betty is preceded in death by her parents, husband, sisters Audrey Bettis, Lottie Jo Whatley, and brother Howard Brooks. Left to cherish her memory is son Sidney Koloc, daughters Marilyn Lynn and husband Walt and Lisa Hall and husband Gregg; grandchildren Laura Brownstein (Evan), Alan Koloc (Arien), Jennifer Chapman, Bryan Hall (Marnie), Lindsey Rummings (Ian) and Delene Simpson; Sister Ruby McDoniel; ten great grandchildren and one great great grandchild.
Pallbearers will be Walt Lynn, Bryan Hall, Alan Koloc, Nate Koloc, Gabe Koloc, and Jeff Kreid.
