Betty Joyce Sellers

Betty, a graduate of The University of Southern Mississippi (B.S) and Mississippi College (M. Ed. and Ed. Spec.), moved to Shreveport, Louisiana in July of 1985 from Ridgeland, Mississippi. She was an elementary school teacher at Canton Elementary School in the Madison County Mississippi School System from September 1947 to May 1985 and at Queensborough Elementary School in the Caddo Parish Louisiana School System from August 1985 until her retirement in December of 2003.

She was a long time member of Calvary Baptist Church in Shreveport, Louisiana and a member of weight recorder and past leader of T.O.P.S. LA 0444 Shreveport.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Woodrow and Verna Cole, and son-in-law, Roy Vaughn.

Left to cherish her memory are her brother, Don Cole; daughter, Greta Sellers Vaughn; son, Bill Sellers and his wife, Cindy; grandchildren, Sarah Joyce Vaughn, Victoria Vaughn Blankenship and husband Jerry, Heather Lynn Sellers, William Joseph Sellers; great grandchildren, Ivey Ann Blankenship and Emma Victoria Blankenship; and other friends and family members.

Memorial Services will be held on Thursday, March 23, 2017 at 2:00 P.M. held at Centuries Memorial Park.
