Billy Wayne Chapman was born September 30, 1950 in Ferriday to the late Rebecca Rowena Poole Chapman and Daniel Warren Chapman. He was loving known to his children and grandchildren as "Pop". He retired from his career in the oilfield as an Account Manager of Sales. Billy also served his community as an Auxiliary Deputy with the local law enforcement.
Billy was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and friend. He had a love of fishing and gardening but his greatest joy in life was spending time with his family especially his grandchildren. He always enjoyed joking with his sons and friends until he said "alright that's enough now". He had a warm heart and a kind spirit.
Billy went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, November 24, 2024 surrounded by his family at the age of 74. He is now reunited with his parents and brother, Warren Poole Chapman. He will be deeply missed and loved always.
Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife, Susan Wilson Chapman; sons, Rob Warren Chapman and Ryan Wayne Chapman; grandchildren, Collin Wayne Chapman, Wrenn Hatcher Chapman and Palmer Grace Chapman.
A visitation for Billy will be held Friday, November 29, 2024 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Centuries Memorial Funeral Home, 8801 Mansfield Road, Shreveport, LA 71108. A celebration of life will occur Saturday, November 30, 2024 at 1:30 PM at Centuries Memorial Funeral Home. He will be laid to rest in Centuries Memorial Park. Serving as pallbearers are Rob Chapman, Ryan Chapman, Collin Chapman, Brandt Tyndall, John Kennedy, and Chris Janz with Rocky Thompson, Jonathan Smith and Ronnie Jennings serving as honorary pallbearers.
