Bobbie Jean Adams, passed away on January 27, 2025. She was born on December 16, 1935 in Kilgore, TX. She moved to Shreveport in 1953. She was an insurance adjuster for many years with Allstate and Aetna. She also worked part-time as a journalist for the Shreveport Times and Bossier Press reporting on stock car races for many years.
Her love and faith in God was evident as she taught Sunday School and numerous other classes to children at her church. Family was always an important part of her life. She had four children, 17 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren and more on the way.
She is preceded in death by her mother and father, brother, Terry Puryear, grandsons, Todd Sykes, Dylan Adams and Gage Bertram.
She is survived by her children, Terry Adams and wife Jill, Bettie Parks, Susie Roy and husband Patrick and James Adams and wife Heather; her siblings, William Dobbs and wife Lorna, Teddy Puryear and wife Jeanne, Marnet McCann, and Jimmy Puryear and wife Gayla.
A visitation for Bobbie will be held Saturday, February 1, 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Centuries Memorial Funeral Home, 8801 Mansfield Road, Shreveport, LA 71108, followed by a Funeral Service at 2:00 PM. She will be laid to rest in Centuries Memorial Park. The family and friends will gather following the burial for a reception celebrating her life.
We are asking for donations to Alzheimer's or Parkinson foundations in lieu of flowers.
We would also like to give a special recognition to Sarah, Renee and Payton, who are with St. Joseph's Hospice. Also Fran at The Glen, who works in the Memory Care Unit.
