Bobby Eugene DePrang, Sr. ,79, of Keithville, Louisiana, passed away on August 19, 2021, after a long battle with cancer. He was born on November 7, 1941, to Raleigh and Mildred DePrang of Shreveport, Louisiana. He was best known as a delivery driver for Frito Lay and his outstanding service as a salesman at Red River Chevrolet in Bossier City, Louisiana.
He married the love of his life, Mary Louise Dunn, on July 2, 1975. Together, they have 5 children, Bobby DePrang, Jr. and spouse Mary Beth, Wendell DePrang and spouse Stacey, Cari DePrang, Scott McCollum and spouse Shannon, and Randy McCollum and spouse Dawn, Grandchildren include Heath DePrang and spouse Kristen, Shawna Duke, Jordan DePrang and spouse Courtney, Abram DePrang and spouse Hannah, Landree DePrang, Bradly McCollum, Justin McCollum and spouse Sara, Afton Beasley and spouse Eric, and Austin McCollum and spouse Kat, along with 12 great-grandchildren. He was proceeded in death by his parents and brother, Kim DePrang.
He graduated from Fair Park High School in 1959. He was a man who loved God, his family, and his country. He usually asked everyone, " What have you been up to?" He always had a smile, a hug, and a kiss for you when you walked through the door. People who knew him well, knew that his integrity and honor were very important to him. He would say that he wanted to always be able to go to sleep at night knowing that he had treated people honestly and just. He will be greatly missed by so many. His favorite times were when the whole family would get together for a meal, usually a holiday but sometimes for another special occasion. We love you Daddy / Pappaw!
The family wishes to extend gratitude to Dr. Robert Savory, WK Hospice Care, Christy Graham, caregiver Brittany Hollowell so many others who helped take care of him.
The funeral will be on August 23, 2021 at Centuries Memorial in Shreveport, Louisiana. Visitation will be at 10 am followed by the funeral at 11 am. Graveside will be for family only.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to St. Jude's Children's Home or a charity for Autism
