SHREVEPORT, LA – Celebration of Life services for Mr. Brider Leroy Ferguson, 78, will be held 11:00 a.m., Thursday, November 3, 2011, in the Centuries Memorial Chapel with Bro. Randy Riley officiating. The family will receive friends for visitation Thursday, November 3, 2011, from 10:30 a.m. until time of service.
Mr. Ferguson was born November 16, 1932, in Vivian, Louisiana, to the late Thomas Brider and Jesse Almeda Carter Ferguson and was called to his Heavenly home October 31, 2011, in Shreveport, Louisiana. He always enjoyed fellowship with his Sunday school class, (Gerald Taylor Memorial) at Trinity Height Baptist Church. Mr. Ferguson had many hobbies, including; gardening, hunting, fishing, watching the LSU and Saint games. He made a career as a professional brick layer with his hands taking part in much of our downtown area including the Shiners’ Children Hospital.
Mr. Ferguson is preceded in death by his parents, three brothers; Stanley, Byrle, and Jack Ferguson, and two sisters-in-law, Evora and Violet Ferguson. Left to cherish Brider’s memory and share his stories will be two sons; Thomas “Beau” Ferguson and Lt. Col. Cecil Clark, one daughter; Melissa White and husband Fred, two sisters-in-law, Emily and Margaret Ferguson, four grandchildren; Hunter White and wife Kate, Jacob White and wife Paige, Casey and Lila White, along with numerous extended family member and many great friends.
Memorials may be made in honor of Mr. Brider Leroy Ferguson to Trinity Height Baptist Church, and St. Jude’s Children Research Center.
The family would like to extend special thanks to the nursing staff on 2 East of Willis Knighton North Hospital for the care and compassion shared during their time of need.
