Yvonne was born on Monday, January 18, 1943, in Provencal, LA to the proud parents, Lloyd and Lola Donaho.
Soon the family moved to Cedar Grove where Mr. & Mrs. Donaho had their hands full raising six boys and six girls. Later she eyed a neighborhood boy that she began dating after he returned home from the Army. That boy was Lester Williams and they were hitched for 60 years and 10 months of marital bliss. They sunk roots in Blanchard where they raised a family of their own.
Primarily, Yvonne was a homemaker with her hands full with two boys and one daughter of her own that always begged her to make her famous homemade biscuits and ‘Tater Salad’. She was also well known for all of her fried catfish, as she was passionate about ‘Cat-Fishin’. She would catch, clean, and cook all those catfish herself. When the kids were a bit older she went to work for one of her best friends at Stump Water Inn. She worked right across the street for 18 years at Longwood. All along the way, she enjoyed football, rootin’ for the 49ers-much to her brother’s chagrin. When not working, cooking, or fishing, and you were needing to track her down; she could often be found playing Bingo at the Knights of Columbus Hall. Of late, you could count on finding her spoiling all of her nine grandchildren and thirteen great grand-children. And of course, none of them: "Could do no wrong", according to 'Me Maw'.
Yvonne is preceded in death by: her parents, Lloyd Bud and Lola Ruth Holt Donaho; her husband, Lester Ray Williams; daughter, Kimberly Carol Williams; brothers: Jerry, Frankie, and Terry. Mrs. Williams is survived by: sons, Jerry Ray Williams, Sr. and wife Whitney, Keith Wayne Williams and wife Jeri Nicole; brothers, Jimmy Williams and wife Jan, and Eugene Williams and wife Darlene. Also left to cherish her memory are: her grandchildren, Rocky Hicks, Ryan Hicks, Jerry Ray Williams, Jr. and wife Katie, Kolton Williams, Kimbre’ Jones and husband Russ, Sherie’ Williams, Jaida Williams, Hailley Hicks, and Chase Hicks; thirteen great-grandchildren, and the few catfish that got away.
She was one of a kind. One you were grateful to have on your side. She will be greatly missed.
