Carolyn retired after many years from Brookshires Grocery Company. She loved to crochet, knit, paint, shop and watch the Texas Rangers and LSU Tigers with Buddy. She especially enjoyed spending time with Kasandra. She was a 40 year member of Moose Lodge 2239 of the Women Of The Moose. Carolyn was also past lodge queen and past District 4 queen. She will be greatly missed by those who knew her best and loved her most.
She was preceded in death by parents, Harold Wayne Folmar and Florence Laverne Wright Folmar; sisters, Helen and Evelyn.
Left to cherish her memory is her husband of 49 years, James "Buddy" Dew; son, Jeremy Welborn (Deirdre); granddaughter, Savannah; special niece, Kasandra Jackson (Wesley); sister, Pam Jackson (Steve); brother, George Wayne Folmar (Doreen), and many nieces and nephews.
A visitation for Carolyn will be held Tuesday, October 29, 2024 from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm at Centuries Memorial Funeral Home, 8801 Mansfield Road, Shreveport, Louisiana 71108. A Celebration of Life Service will follow at 2:00 pm with Bro. Dean Johnson officiating. Interment will take place in Centuries Memorial Park. Honoring the family as pallbearers will be Harvey Jones, Nelson Cole, Wesley Lynch, Ricki Quienley, Jr., Randy Pantalion, and Robbie Clark.
