A Celebration of Life service for Charles Emory Greene, 75, will be held on Saturday, July 7, 2018 at Centuries Memorial Funeral Home at 3 p.m. The family will receive friends during a visitation time for one hour prior to the service.
Charles was born in Fort Myers, FL on February 25, 1943 and went to be with his Lord on June 29, 2018 at his home in Shreveport, LA. Charles had numerous and varied accomplishments throughout his life. He was a 1965 graduate of Georgia Tech with a degree in electrical engineering. He was hired by Lockheed-Marietta and worked on the C-5 Galaxy while there. Charles also worked on the Apollo Program at Kennedy Space Center. He was a regional manager with AFLAC for over twenty years, in addition to working with Custom Software and Services. His interests and hobbies included fishing, computer related projects, travel, spending time with his family, and playing Spanish Rummy. Charles will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved him.
Charles was preceded in death by his parents, Emory and Myrtice Greene and his sister, Susan Greene Ryals. Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Mary Greene; his son and daughter-in-law, Patrick and Kathy Greene; his daughter, Kelly Greene; and his grandson, John Michael Lachney.
