Charlie was a kind and funny man whose steady presence brought comfort to everyone who knew him. A hard worker to his core, he was deeply proud of providing for his family and spent his life making sure those he loved were always taken care of. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, and his family was always his greatest priority. He shared 57 years of marriage with his beloved wife, Theresa Wolfe Stewart.
Charlie was a builder by trade and by nature. He spent 20 years helping to build the city of Las Vegas, leaving behind not only physical structures but also a legacy of dedication, skill, and perseverance. No matter where his work took him, his heart was always with his family and his roots in Louisiana.
He is survived by his loving wife, Theresa Wolfe Stewart; his daughter, Stacey Stewart-Sweat (Keith); grandchildren Chase Kramer, Madison Villafuerte (Arturo), Logan Kramer, and Amber Miller; and great-grandchildren Weston Kramer and Helios Villafuerte. He is also survived by his sister-in-law Linda Davis; many nieces and nephews; a host of cousins;and special friends Robert and Linda Nowery and Shelia Davis-Earley (Daniel
Earley).
Charlie was preceded in death by his beloved son, Charles Jeffrey Stewart (Jeff); his father, Elbert Oliver Stewart Jr.; his mother, Billye Jean Stewart Wolfe ;his brothers David Franklin Stewart, Billy Gregg Stewart, and James Kevin Stewart; and his parents-in-law Howard Wolfe and Onita Holland Wolfe.
Visitation will be held at Centuries Memorial Funeral Home, located at 8801 Mansfield Road, Shreveport, LA 71108, on February 12, 2026, from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm.A Celebration of Life will take place at the same venue on February 13, 2026, starting at 10:00 am.
Charlie will be remembered for his humor, his kindness, his work ethic, and the unwavering love he had for his family.
He leaves behind a legacy of strength, loyalty, and love that will live on through all who knew him.
