Charlie Atkins

A Celebration of Life Service will be held for Charlie Atkins, 77, on Thursday, June 21, 2018 at Centuries Funeral Home at 10 a.m. Bro. Tom McCann will officiate. Interment will follow at Centuries Memorial Park. The family will receive friends for visitation on Wednesday, June 20, 2018 from 5-7 p.m. at Centuries Funeral Home.

Charlie was born on November 10, 1940 in Havre De Grace, MD. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy. Charlie retired from General Motors. He was a longtime member of Frierson Baptist Church. Charlie’s hobbies included pool, stamps, and coin collecting.

Charlie was preceded in death by his wife of 32 years, Gail Atkins. Left to cherish his memory are his mother, Corene Rodermond; his children, Chet Atkins, Shirley Frazer, Tammy Brown, Rick Brown, Larry Brown and wife Rachel; his grandchildren, Nicholas Anderson, Tyler Anderson, CJ Atkins, Bella Cathryn Brown, and Anderson Brown; his two great grandchildren; and his sisters, Connie Leitheiser, Esther Glenn, and Mary Jo Eaton.

Honoring Charlie as pallbearers will be: Rick Brown, Larry Brown, AJ Brown, Ronnie Myers, Chase Myers, and Micah McCann. Charles Leach will be an honorary pallbearer.
