Charlotte Anne McDaniel Tabor was born on December 8, 1937, in Baton Rouge, La to Farrel E McDaniel Sr. and Lucille Nugent McDaniel. She entered the arms of the Lord passing peacefully at home Sept.11, 2023 following a lengthy battle with heart disease. Her heavenly family and her remaining earthly family celebrate her arrival home.
Born into a large family Charlotte grew up in the Capital Heights area of Baton Rouge. She often talked about the good times she had there and the love of her family. A true free spirit blossomed in her as she grew as did her love for art. On graduating Baton Rouge High School, she was married and had two children.
Charlotte married her soulmate Barron Tabor in 1962 and began a new life with her children Ben and Renee Gibbens. In 1964 she and Barron had a son Nathan. Charlotte and Barron continued to raise the family with Charlotte working odd jobs as Barron began his Career in Education at LSUS. She was very talented in the arts and through much determination gained a Master of Arts in Education Degree from LSUS. Charlotte began her career and taught High School art in the Caddo Parish School System. She was loved by her students with many continuing to contact her through later years. Her talents would come in handy for last-minute school projects for her grandchildren as well.
Charlotte and Barron retired and started their journey as Lollie and Pops to their two grandchildren. Many great memories were made and Lollie’s heart was full of joy. Annual trips to Colorado and other wilderness destinations became their next favorite pastime. As time moved on the next generation of children filled their hearts with more joy with the birth of the first of many great grandchildren. They too learned to love Lollie and Pops and looked forward to visiting with them and of course snacks. Lollie’s love lives on in the love for her carried in all their hearts.
Charlotte was preceded in death by her parents Farrel Sr and Lucille McDaniel, daughter Renee Gibbens, son Benjamin Gibbens II, sisters Donaldeen Long and Qwen M Jarreau. Welcoming her home in eternity is her husband of 60 years Barron Tabor.
