Charlotte Whitthorne Farmer passed away on February 18, 2022, surrounded by love. She was born November 7, 1927, in Paris, TN. She was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years Shelton Farmer, her parents, Charles and Bertice Whitthorne, her brother, Chuck Whitthorne and her granddaughter, Christi Farmer.
She is survived by her sister, Liz Mortimer, five children, Allison Smith, Ray Farmer and wife Anne, Shelda Farmer, Mike Farmer and wife Janice, Charla Wilkes and husband Damon. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Wendi, Mandy, Kellye, Daniel and Brandy; great grandchildren, Brookelyn, Drew, Riley, Ansley, Blake, Brayden, Alina, Daniel, Mackenzie and Gracie; great great granddaughter, Ridleigh; her Arkansas bunch, her Lafayette bunch and Buff; her friend of many years, Marsha Lea and her companion and protector, Rascal.
She lived a life of faith, family and friends. She loved to travel and often spoke of her trips to New York City, Paris, Costa Rica and Key West. She had a great sense of humor and a quick wit. She loved talking to people and never met a stranger. She leaves behind lessons of strength, perseverance, determination, positivity, faith and unconditional love.
The family is forever grateful to Sheila, Elizabeth and our nurse, Tammy for their support, love and compassionate care of our mother.
A visitation for Charlotte will be held Thursday, February 24, 2022 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Centuries Memorial Funeral Home, 8801 Mansfield Road, Shreveport, Louisiana 71108. A celebration of life will occur Friday, February 25, 2022 at 2:00 PM at Centuries Memorial Funeral Home.
