Mrs. Claudia Jewel Gilcrease Montgomery

Greenwood, LA---Services celebrating the life of Claudia Gilcrease Montgomery, 83, will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, December 8, 2010 in the chapel of Centuries Memorial Funeral Home on Mansfield Road in Shreveport, LA. Officiating will be Reverend Al Sale. Visitation for Mrs. Montgomery will be held on Tuesday, December 7, 2010 from 5-7 p.m. at Centuries Funeral Home.

Claudia was born on June 15, 1927 in Mansfield, LA. Mrs. Montgomery grew up in Flora, LA and then married her husband of 67 years, Lathan Montgomery. Claudia and Lathan were blessed with four children and a long life together.

Mrs. Montgomery was a member of Faith Bible Missionary Church.

Mrs. Montgomery was preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Florence Gilcrease, sister Gertrude Campbell and brother, Earl Gilcrease.

Left to cherish beautiful memories are her husband Lathan Montgomery; children, Charlotte Yeager, Helen Almond and husband Meldon, Marie Spence and husband Kent and Lathan Earl Montgomery and wife Sue ; 9 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Timothy Williams, Scott Williams, Greg Montgomery, Meldon Almond, Hank Sale and Jamie Loftin. Honorary Pallbearer will be Aaron Newsom.Arrangements under the direction of Centuries Memorial Funeral Home, Shreveport, LA.
