Cindy, 57, was the cherished mother of Amanda Waddell and Amelia Lewis, the proud mother-in-law of Riley Waddell and Trenton Lewis, the loving sister of David Chreene (Robyn Chreene), and the devoted dog mom to her two puppies, Hashbrown and Tucker.
She is preceded in death by the loves of her life, Travis Nutt, and her parents, Leon and Shirley Chreene.
Cindy was the epitome of selflessness, always putting others before herself. Her daughters were the greatest loves and joys of her life. As a mother, Cindy poured her heart into raising Amanda and Amelia, taking every opportunity to create traditions and memories for them to cherish forever, like making sausage balls on Christmas morning and their annual Black Friday shopping trip. She was determined to teach her girls the values of strength, independence, and the importance of chasing their dreams, no matter how big.
Her devotion to family extended beyond her daughters to include a close-knit circle of lifelong friends. These women were with her through all of life’s highs and lows, creating a bond that was rare and special, forming a sisterhood that was a cornerstone of Cindy’s life. Her friends and community were her family, and Cindy made sure that those she loved knew how much they meant to her.
A devoted teacher for 35 years, Cindy inspired countless students and teachers, shaping the lives of all who crossed her path. Her fun-loving spirit and creative mind were abundant in her classroom and school communities. She loved dressing up for every spirit day and was a pillar in school activities, such as the annual Christmas recital, where she played the piano each year. She instilled a love for learning in her daughters, who followed in her footsteps to become educators themselves.
A woman of boundless love, compassion, and creativity, Cindy was a master of all crafts. From baking to painting, she explored her many talents, and most recently, she developed a passion for crocheting. Every year, she created one-of-a-kind cakes for her daughters' birthdays, each one guaranteed to be a showstopper. Cindy’s handcrafted bows became a signature touch on every gift she gave, a personal detail that made each present feel special. She had a heart that searched high and low for the perfect gift for those in her life, believing that thoughtful, meaningful gifts were one of the truest ways to show her love. Her talent for designing beautiful floral arrangements for loved ones further reflected the depth of her care, turning even the simplest moments into lasting memories.
Cindy's love of travel was a defining part of her life. From childhood trips with her family to national parks and landmarks, she developed a passion for exploring the world. This love continued into adulthood as she took her daughters on annual summer trips, determined to give her girls the world. Later in life, she shared many adventures with her late husband, Travis, traveling to places like Yellowstone and the Rocky Mountains. When she wasn’t traveling, one of Cindy's favorite places was her swimming pool, where she loved to relax and enjoy the company of family and friends.
Above all, Cindy’s life was guided by her fierce love for the Lord. Her unwavering faith was a source of strength, providing her with peace and resilience through both the good times and the challenges she faced. Cindy was a woman of unfractured strength, grace, and kindness. She faced life’s challenges with courage, always standing tall with a generous and compassionate heart. Her beautiful green eyes, contagious laughter, and spirit of warmth made everyone who knew her feel loved and safe, like they were home when with her. Her impeccable sense of humor was always sure to bring a smile to your face, making even the tough days just a little bit brighter.
Her legacy of limitless love, strength, and laughter will live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate to live in her light.
In honor of the bright life Cindy lived, her family wants to say their goodbyes with a Sea of Colors. They ask all who attend her services to wear bright colors in lieu of the traditional mourning attire.
