SHREVEPORT, LA – Daniel passed into Heaven on Saturday, January 3, 2015. Born March 2, 1931 to Samuel and Edith Maples in New Orleans, LA, Daniel was a member of the Air Force during the Korean War. Married to Audrey Brandt in 1954, he worked for the DuPont Company until he retired in 1985.
Daniel is survived by his wife, Audrey Maples; sons, Daniel E. Maples and wife Carolyn of Fort Worth, TX, and Don A. Maples and wife Janice of Shreveport; and grandchildren, Brian, Amy and Christopher Maples. He is preceded in death by his father, Samuel; mother, Edith; and sister, Shirley Gibson.
Daniel enjoyed spending time with his friends at Willis Knighton Health Center.
Visitation will be at Centuries Memorial Funeral Home on Wednesday, January 7, 2015, from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m., all friends are welcome. Services will follow at St. John Berchmans Cathedral at 1:00 p.m.
