It seems like yesterday that Darrel, Bruce Stenz, Tom Bordelon and I started our college years in Lafayette in August, 1977. As "transplants" from Shreveport, we took full advantage of the Cajun experience that USL and Acadiana had to offer.

We shared the same birthday (January 30, 1959) and I have so many fond memories and great stories of Darrel and the group that we hung out with during those years.

I am truly saddened to hear of his passing and send my sincere condolences to the NeJame family.

Darrel was a kind and generous man. We’ll miss seeing him working in his yard across the street.

Darrel’s smile and laugh were absolutely contagious! He touched so many people’s lives and will be dearly missed. Was scanning through pics on my phone and found this one from Christmas in the Sky, Dec. 2016. Perfect depiction! ❤️
