Randy was an accomplished electrician whose hard work carried him through a career marked by skill, reliability, and pride in doing things the right way. Those who knew him understood that his steady hands were matched by a generous spirit—one that showed itself in quiet compassion, practical help, and a kind-hearted way of being with others.
A man of faith, Randy loved Jesus and lived with a sincere devotion that shaped the way he treated people and the way he moved through the world. He also had a gift for building—taking joy in creating anything from mother-in-law suites to plantar boxes—and he found genuine satisfaction in all things electrical, always drawn to the craft and the challenge.
Randy was married to his wife, Laurie, for 23 years, and he valued the life they built together. He adored his dogs and chickens, and the simple, grounded rhythms of home. Living in the woods was his dream, and he cherished the kind of days that made that dream feel close: fishing, sitting on the front porch, and riding his tractor.
Even in a life defined by diligence and care, Randy made room for laughter. His humor was unmistakably his own—especially in the “Leonix” vocabulary he invented, punctuated with sayings like “Bess you eva” and “OTM = on the money.” In those familiar phrases, friends and family heard not only wit, but warmth—the sound of Randy being Randy.
He will be remembered with respect, gratitude, and enduring affection.
Left to cherish his memories are his wife, Laurie Leon; sons Randy Leon Jr. (Jami) and Adam Leon (Lacey); daughter Amanda Flentge (Michael); and bonus daughter Charli Richardson (Jared); grandchildren Sierra Matthews, Abigail Rodgers, James Rodgers, Noah Flentge, Elizabeth Flentge, Harlow Leon, Kaigan Forrest, Brent Richardson and Paige Helfinstine; three great-grandbabies; brother Joey Leon (Cindy); brother-in-law, Mike Christian (Sherry) and nieces.
Randy was preceded in death by his parents Anthony and Wilma Leon, and his brother Al Leon.
A celebration of Randy's life will be held on Saturday, September 5, 2026 at Laurie and Randy's home at 2:00pm.
