She enjoyed traveling and gardening. She loved looking at beautiful things which included, Fashion, Make-up and Flowers. She worked at Palais Royal Department Store as a buyer, which allowed her to travel the world to attend fashion shows. After her travels she retired from General Electric after 20 years. Most of all Delores loved spending time with family and her dog, Max, she was the glue that brought the family together in her home on all occasions. Her smile will be greatly missed by all who knew her, and she will never be forgotten.
Left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Sheila Carpenter and husband Tommy; grandchildren, Mendy Bailes and husband Vance, Dr. Vicky Green and husband David, Dana Taravella and husband Joe; great grandchildren, Alyssa, Destiny, Brittany, Jodie, Marshall and Barrett; great great grandchildren, Greyson, and Elias; brother, Danny; and sisters, Pat, Brenda, and Jeannie.
She is preceded in death by her husband of 25 years, Elias Thomas; daughter, Joan Campbell; granddaughter, Chanel Laney; her parents; and brother, Doyle Minehart.
A visitation for Delores will be held Friday, February 28, 2020 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Centuries Memorial Funeral Home with a celebration of life to follow at 11:00 AM. An interment will occur Friday, February 28, 2020 at Forest Park East, 3700 St Vincent Ave, Shreveport, Louisiana 71103. Officiating the services will be Rev. Don Vercher. Honoring her as pallbearers will be the Shreveport Fire Department.
