Don was a wonderful man, husband and father. He really loved the Lord and was frequently found enjoying his Bible, collecting model cars and savoring a cherry Tootsie Pop. Don found the other half of his soul, Mary, in 1960 and spent the next 61 years sharing a life well lived. Together, they watched four children and many grandchildren and great grandchildren grow and prosper. His legacy will continue in all their happiness. He will be greatly missed by those who knew him best and loved him most.
Don was preceded in death by his parents; brothers Russell, Lester, Dellas and sister Vickie.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife Mary; children, Darrell, Sherry, Roger and Nikki; brother, Jim and wife Linda; multiple grandchildren and great grandchildren.
A visitation for Don will be held Thursday, March 10, 2022 from 10:00-11:00 AM at Centuries Memorial Funeral Home, 8801 Mansfield Road, Shreveport, Louisiana 71108, followed by a Celebration of Life Service at 11:00 AM with Brother Rod Smith officiating. Interment will take place in Centuries Memorial Park.
The family would like to extend special thanks to Dr. Robert Hernandez and staff and the staff at Willis Knighton North for their compassionate care during this difficult time.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Shriners Children's Hospital.
