Dora Kaylor

Dora Ruth Dunbar Kaylor, age 91, of Shreveport, Louisiana went home to be with her Lord on Thursday, October 30, 2025. She was born February 28, 1934 in Shreveport, Louisiana to the late Ethel Cockrum Dunbar and William Dennie Dunbar.

Dora was devoted to her faith. She was a dedicated member of Rose Park Baptist Church. She enjoyed being active in her community organizations. She was a Worthy Matron of the Eastern Star in Shreveport for many years. Dora was a loving wife, mother, sister and friend to many. Her kindness and her legacy of spreading love will be missed by all who knew her.

She was preceded in death by her parents; eight siblings, Calvin Dunbar, Kenneth Dunbar, Bessie Mae Chance, Thelma Kelly, Lois Mangham, Lenor Zeigler, Margaret Dixon, and Bill Dunbar.

Left to cherish her memory are her children, Gary Hord and Murray Hord; step son, Dane Hord (Lee); her brother, Richard Dunbar; along with three grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and extended family members.

A visitation for Dora will be held Monday, November 3, 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Centuries Memorial Funeral Home, 8801 Mansfield Road, Shreveport, Louisiana 71108. Following the visitation will be a graveside service at 2:00 PM at Centuries Memorial Park. Officiating the services will be Dr. B. J. "Rocky" Maddox.
