

Doris Loved the Lord and was a faithful member of Willow Point Baptist Church, formerly Queensborough Baptist Church. Doris served in World War II in the Cadet Nurses Corp. from 1944 to 1947 in Alexandria, Louisiana. Doris worked in a childrens polio camp in Springfield, Missouri for about six months. She was a graduate of Northwestern State College with a B.S. in nursing and taught nursing at Northwestern. Later, she taught three to four year old preschool kindergarten at Queensborough Baptist Church. She was a nurse at the Veterans Hospital and retired in 1988 after 20 years or more. After retirement, Doris enjoyed fishing and traveling. She also used her nursing skills caring for her sisters when their health was failing.
Those left to cherish her memories are sons, C.H. “Bill” Wiggins, Jr. with wife Candy C. Wiggins and Parker W. Wiggins; daughters, Joyce Wiggins Dodson with husband Orland Dodson, III and Ellen Wiggins Madden with husband Tommy Madden; grandchildren, Dan Dodson with wife Jennifer R. Dodson, Lynda D. Reider with husband Richard Reider, Elizabeth M. Hancock with husband Rick Hancock and Chase Wiggins; great-grandchildren, Anna Dodson, Sarah Dodson, Rebecca Dodson, Jessica Reider, Samantha Reider, Elodie Hancock and Bear Hancock; a sister, Eliza Walker and numerous nieces and nephews.
