Dorothy worked as a switchboard operator for Willis Knighton South in Shreveport, Louisiana for over 30 years, serving others with the same kindness and patience that defined her life beyond work.
A loving wife, mother, sister, and friend to many, Dorothy was remembered as one of the nicest people you would ever know—always smiling, and always full of joy and love. Her legacy is one of steady compassion, sincere warmth, and a life lived with grace.
She loved to sew and make quilts. Whether creating quilts as gifts or simply sewing a button back on or stitching up a seam, it didn’t matter what the task was—Dorothy genuinely enjoyed sewing, and she shared that quiet talent in ways that brought comfort and warmth to others.
Dorothy was the loving wife of Jon Solberg for 62 years. Together they built a family rooted in devotion and care, and Dorothy’s love for her family was evident in the way she lived each day. She is also survived by her son, Jonathan Solberg and devoted partner, Linda; grandchildren, Ashley Duke, Dylan Robinson, and Logan Robinson; and great-grandchildren, Izabel Solis, Hazel Duke, and Ezra Duke; sisters, Janet Pauling and Carolyn Stringer; and numerous nieces, nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father, Creed Freeman “Charlie” Taylor; her mother, Anice Christine Dison Taylor; and her brother, Charles Wayne Taylor.
