Dorothy Jean (Ouzts) Tilley, entered into rest on May 23, 2018 after a short illness. Jean was born in Minden, Louisiana, in September, 1950 to Wille F. and Agnes L. Ouzts of Gibsland. She was a graduate of Gibsland High School and resided in Shreveport. She worked as the Secretary of Lakeview United Methodist Church, and later as Deputy Clerk of Court for Caddo Parish (retired).
She was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by husband Gary L. Tilley and son Cory Tilley of Shreveport, brother James W. Ouzts of Enterprise KS, niece Cathy Ouzts Cox of Benton, nephew Carey Ouzts of Fryeburg, and their families. She was a member of Grace Community United Methodist Church.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 26, 2018 at 1 p.m. at Centuries Memorial Chapel in Shreveport, with burial in Mt. Lebanon Cemetery, near Gibsland. Visitation will take place one hour before the service.
The family would like to acknowledge and express their thanks and appreciation to the physicians, nursing and medical staff of Willis Knighton South Medical Center for their outstanding care. In lieu of flowers, donations to the American Cancer Society would also be appreciated.
