Jack Hawks, age 77, of Oil City, Louisiana passed away on Tuesday, October 17, 2023. He was born on August 22, 1946 in Beaumont, Texas to the late Elmer Hutchins and Sue Payne Hawks. Jack was a journeyman mechanic with the Plumbers and Steamfitters local number 141 for over thirty years. He was an avid outdoorsman, always enjoyed spending time in the woods hunting or on any body of water fishing or duck hunting. Jack was a great husband, wonderful dad, dedicated friend, and devout Papa whom loved life and loved his family. Jack will be missed by all who knew him.
Jack was preceded in passing by his parents; two brothers: Franklin Hawks, John Freddie Hawks; and one son, Joel Koehler Hawks.
Left to cherish Jack's wonderful memories will be his beloved wife of fifty years, Mary Beatrice Deck Hawks; five children: John Hawks (Tammy), Robbie Vance (Steve), Bill Hawks (Donita), Freda Pattillo (Christopher), Gina Morgan (Adam); one brother, Danny Hawks (Rose); numerous grandchildren; great grandchildren; many extended family members and a host of wonderful friends.
Honoring Jack as pallbearers will be Ryan Woods, Joel Hawks, Micah Davis, Jack Pattillo, Christopher Pattillo, and Adam Morgan.
The family would like to extend their sincerest gratitude to Dr. P.V. Blanchard and the staff of St. Joseph Hospice for the professional support, friendships and care provided to Jack and the family during our great time of need.

The family will be welcoming guests for visitation Friday, October 20, 2023 from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM at Hill Crest Memorial Funeral Home in the Blanchard Chapel, 356 Warriner Avenue, Blanchard, Louisiana 71107.
A graveside celebration will be held in Jack's honor on Saturday, October 21, 2023 at 1:00 PM on the grounds of Lakeview Memorial Gardens, 220 Hamill Street, Oil City, Louisiana 71061.
